Description
ARA-290, also known as cibinetide, is a synthetic 11-amino-acid research peptide modeled after the helix B surface region of erythropoietin. It was designed to investigate erythropoietin-associated tissue-protective signaling without activating the classical pathway responsible for red-blood-cell production.
Research involving ARA-290 has focused on its interaction with the innate repair receptor—a receptor complex associated with cellular protection, inflammatory regulation, and tissue-repair signaling. Preclinical and early clinical studies have examined the peptide in models involving nerve injury, small-fiber neuropathy, inflammation, and tissue stress.
ARA-290 remains an investigational compound. Published findings should not be interpreted as establishing its safety or effectiveness for medical use.
